Hi, I'm Sherri Brodie

I'm so thrilled you're here!

It's because of YOU that I started On Point Hair Academy and created my Own Your Chair blog.

Whether you’re new to the industry or life circumstances happened and you find yourself starting over or you’ve hit a career plateau, it can be overwhelming. And kind of scary.

Actually, it can be downright terrifying when your bills are more than your income and you don’t know what to do.

That happened to me years ago when I became a single mom and the financial burden was on me to take care of myself and my two young sons.

Just like you, I found myself at the crossroads where I faced two choices: either dig in, step up and make it work OR step aside and find something else to do.

I love cutting hair so I decided to dig in, step up and make it work!

Looking back, I understand that the most important choice I made was never giving up. I kept pushing myself to learn everything I could possibly learn.

And then I practiced what I learned every single day. Until it became a part of me. It was the best career decision I ever made.

You know what? If I can do it, I KNOW you can do it too! And the best part is you don’t have to do this alone.

All that learning and practicing began paying off. I was able to raise my rates and land high-end clients that allowed me to afford advanced training, live in a better home, and even buy my own salon in the Bay area.

The next phase of my career included a thrilling whirlwind of owning and running the salon and teaching my new stylists how to improve their skills through my nationally recognized apprenticeship program.

I also represented Graham Webb and Wella as an educator in salons and at hair shows across the country, and as a trainer at Paul Mitchell and Wella Studio.

If you’re still reading this, my story must resonate with you. I don’t know your situation yet, but with total respect and compassion, please know that YOU are the reason I felt a calling to create On Point Hair Academy and my Own Your Chair blog.

There are so many areas in our hairstyling career that we want to master including:

  • Learning how to cut hair with confidence.

  • Incorporating artistic core principles and never getting lost in a haircut again.

  • Filling our booking app with clients we want to work on.

  • Charging what we're worth.

  • Creating a vibe that keeps our clients coming back time and time again.

  • Improving communication with our clients.

You could learn all this by yourself. There are plenty of blogs, YouTube videos and social media posts sharing the same principles and strategies.

But who has the time? And more importantly, how do you know if you're getting accurate information?

It can be time-consuming and confusing to sift through it all.

What makes On Point Hair Academy so unique is that my comprehensive system meets you where you are. I provide simple step-by-step instructions that are easy-to-understand so you can master your haircutting skills and learn how to build, grow and maintain your hairstyling business successfully.

Let's make your journey to success easier and way more fun!

If you're looking for an educator, Sherri is the best at breaking down her knowledge to a level that someone can easily digest so it’s easier to learn. She has an exceptional ability to transfer her vast knowledge of technique and technical precision to students and she does it so effortlessly!

Sherri and I owned a business together, and we had several stylists in our training program that have moved on to own salons of their own. Sherri gave these stylists the confidence and strength to succeed by transferring her knowledge to them so they were able to easily stand out in a group of hairdressers and professionals.

Sherri is a fantastic person and she will put her heart and soul into whatever she does especially if she knows she can help someone develop the confidence to move forward in their life.
